General Pom Information

  • Poms are a fun loving breed and good for the whole family.
  • We raise poms that range in size from 3.5 lbs to 14 lbs. If you have young children (under 8) we recommend getting a puppy that will be 7 lbs or bigger.
  • Poms are highly intelligent dogs and will learn fast with the proper training and consistency.
  • Poms come in various colors from solid to parti (white patches) to merles (spotted colors).
  • We raise poms in the following colors:

    red cream blue black
red sable cream sable blue & tan black parti
red merle cream parti blue parti black & tan
red parti cream sable parti blue & tan parti black & tan parti
red sable parti chocolate blue merle black brindle
orange chocolate sable blue merle parti lavender
orange sable chocolate & tan beaver lavender parti
orange parti chocolate & tan parti beaver sable
orange sable parti chocolate sable parti beaver parti
      chocolate parti beaver sable parti
      chocolate merle

    • Lavender is a diluted chocolate (milk chocolate)
    • Merle is a spotted marking
    • Beaver is a blend of chocolate and orange
    • Sable is black mixed in with whatever other color is present.
    • Parti is having white patches next to color.
  • Poms shed their undercoat twice a year. This leaves them looking a little thin but after a month it grows back in full. Poms will also shed slightly when petted but their coat doesn't leave an oily feeling on your hands like after petting a lab or short haired dog.
  • Poms don't need frequent hair cuts as the hair around their nose and feet stays short. This cuts down on the grooming bill!
  • Overall poms are low maintenance in grooming.
